The Making Moves program provides housing mobility coaching and financial assistance to Housing Choice Voucher families that have children ages 18 or under who are interested in living in well-resourced areas. The Making Moves CNY Program also provides support and financial incentives to property owners who rent to rent to Making Moves families.

Families in the Making Moves program work step-by-step with a Housing Counselor to make a successful move. The program starts with a briefing and a pre-move appointment, where you will work together with your Counselor to discuss your family’s housing and community needs and make a plan to search for homes.

When you’re ready to start your home search, a Counselor will help you look for housing and connect with property owners. The program will also help cover your moving costs, like security deposits and other moving expenses.

After the move, we stay with you to make sure your family gets settled. Need help with school enrollment? Looking for childcare options? We’ll guide you through those next steps too.
